Preston Hill is a Site of Special Scientific Interest on a steep hillside above the Darenth Valley, half chalk grassland and half woodland, with views across to Lullingstone Country Park. In summer the slopes are covered in wildflowers and butterflies such as chalkhill blues. It is a quiet, rugged walk of an hour or two for experienced walkers.
Castle Farm
Castle Farm is a family farm in the Darent Valley between Shoreham and Eynsford, best known for the lavender fields that turn the hillside purple each summer. Its farm shop and coffee cart are open all year, selling the farm's own lavender products, apples, beef and hops, with sunflowers, pumpkins and guided hikes at other times of year.
