Aspens Animal Farm and Bluebell Café
Aspens is a disability charity whose site on Cornford Lane, just outside Pembury, has a small animal farm that anyone can visit for free, cared for by the adults the charity supports. Alongside donkeys, ponies, alpacas, pigs, goats and two emus there is a woodland walk, a playground and the Bluebell Café.
Frant Lakes
Frant Lakes is an eight-lake fishery set in parkland on the Kent and Sussex border near Bells Yew Green, holding carp, big perch and a wide mix of other coarse fish. Every swim is booked online in advance, which keeps numbers down, and a lodge with a cafe, tackle shop and showers sits at the centre of the site.
High Woods
High Woods is a small ancient woodland in Hawkenbury on the south-east edge of Tunbridge Wells, owned by the borough council and running along a ridge above farmland. Oak standards and coppiced sweet chestnut make up most of the wood, and it is one of the town's quieter spots for bluebells in spring.
