Aspens Animal Farm and Bluebell Café

Pembury, West Kent

Aspens is a disability charity whose site on Cornford Lane, just outside Pembury, has a small animal farm that anyone can visit for free, cared for by the adults the charity supports. Alongside donkeys, ponies, alpacas, pigs, goats and two emus there is a woodland walk, a playground and the Bluebell Café.

Highlights

  • Donkeys, ponies, alpacas, emus, goats, sheep and pigs, with rabbits and guinea pigs in the small animal barn
  • Woodland walk and a self-guided eight-stop nature trail from December 2026
  • Children's playground with giant wind chimes and musical instruments, plus an outdoor gym
  • Bluebell Café for meals, homemade cakes and afternoon tea by pre-order

Good to know

  • Please do not feed the animals, as they are on special diets
  • Dogs are allowed outside only and must stay on a lead, including in the fields and woods
  • The site is home to many of the people Aspens supports, so the charity asks visitors to be respectful
  • No alcohol, barbecues or fires on site

High Woods

High Woods is a small ancient woodland in Hawkenbury on the south-east edge of Tunbridge Wells, owned by the borough council and running along a ridge above farmland. Oak standards and coppiced sweet chestnut make up most of the wood, and it is one of the town's quieter spots for bluebells in spring.
