Image: Explore Kent

East Cliff and Warren Country Park runs from open clifftop lawns on the edge of Folkestone down into The Warren, a wild landscape created by 200 years of landslides beneath the White Cliffs. Families can use the playground and pitch and putt, while keener walkers head down to the shore for rockpooling and fossil hunting. Allow a few hours.

Highlights

  • Views of the White Cliffs
  • Some of the best fossil hunting in southern England
  • Rockpooling at low tide
  • Playground, pitch and putt and three Martello Towers
  • Around 150 bird species recorded in The Warren

Good to know

  • Walks into The Warren are fairly strenuous
  • Check tide times before heading onto the foreshore
