Buckmore Park near Chatham is an outdoor karting circuit that has been running since 1963 and where several future Formula One drivers first raced. The long track mixes fast corners, slow corners and a downhill section, with open races for adults and 30-minute sessions, a Bambino School and clubs for juniors. It suits teens, families and groups, and a session with briefing takes a couple of hours.

Capstone Farm Country Park covers over 114 hectares of woodland, old orchards, meadows and a lake on the edge of Chatham and Gillingham. Families can try the two play areas and trim trail, follow waymarked walks or cycle routes, and stop at the lakeside cafe. Allow a few hours, or longer if you are bringing bikes.
