A free two-day fashion event in the Royal Victoria Place shopping centre, run by local stylist Helen Thomson. Each session covers a different autumn and winter theme, from dressing for colder weather to finding a personal style, and the clothes shown are on sale in the centre's own shops.

A free Halloween half-term show in the Royal Victoria Place shopping centre, led by the eccentric Professor Bubbleburp. Children practise casting spells and mixing potions in an interactive session with plenty of joining in.

Royal Victoria Place starts its Christmas season with a day of festive entertainment ending in the lights switch-on at 4.30pm. The centre stays open late, and the day also launches its grotto, window display trail and weekend Christmas storytelling.

A Father Christmas grotto inside Royal Victoria Place, run by Once Upon a Wish Events. Families are welcomed by elves, have a short private meeting with Father Christmas, and each child picks a small unwrapped gift before making reindeer food on the way out.
